The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) on Wednesday 17th June, 2020 pays courtesy call on the Executive Management Board of the Sierra Leone Police at their George Street Freetown.
Welcoming the SLRSA team, the Inspector General of Police Mr. Ambrose Sovula thanked theExecutive Director of the SLRSA Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh for the visit. The Inspector General pointed out that the visit was timely as the SLRSA and the SLP were a family designed by law to work together to achieve the agenda of the new direction, which was to promote Peace, development and stability.
Mr. Sovula called for synergy between the SLP and the SLRSA, and assured the SLRSA of his fullest support at all times. He called on the Authority to contact him at all times. In his response, the Executive Director of the SLRSA Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh thanked the inspector general and team for the warm reception. The Executive director disclosed that the visit was to underscore the call of his Excellency the President to establish sectorial collaboration. He pointed out that the SLRSA was in dire need of the support of the Sierra Leone Police as without Police support, the SLRSA could not achieve its mandates. He added that the Police and the SLP should be seen working together within the ambit of the new direction and called on the IGP to build bridges between the SLP and the SLRSA.
The SLRSA Executive Director outlined the strategic plans of the Authority including digitalization. In her brief remarks, the Deputy Inspector General of Police Madam Elizabeth Turay said the SLRSA and the SLP have common objectives. Therefore she said they must be working together. She called for frequent meetings between the two institutions. The Executive Director was accompanied by; His Deputy, Mr. James Bio, Director of Transport Mr. Arthur Briama, Director of License Madam Hassanatu Mansaray, Mr. Augustine Kaitongi Director of Safety and Enforcement among others.
